The same pictures will probably be uploaded, but with watermarks, etc.

I just need something a bit more professional.

The walls are frail…
Made of some insubstantial material.
You are boxed in.
Like a cage.
Like an animal.

You are mere robots.
Coming and going.
Same time.
Same place.
Perhaps something new will happen today.

Maybe the fruit man will come bearing under ripe bananas;
Eaten only for the sake of eating, before they are forgotten and bruised,
Fragrant apples,
That both taste and smell like perfume,
Wrinkled tangerines,
With the stem and a few leaves still clinging to the fruit;
A sure sign they were picked fresh.

People do not belong in a place where something as insipid as the fruit man is an event to announce.
One should not reside in a place where the only reasonably stimulating occurrence is a man striding down the hall with a box of fruit that can easily be obtained at the local grocery store, if one is able to escape from the clutches of their swivel chair and communicative earpiece.

Get out of the box.
Now.
Stop complaining about the cold and get outside.
Smell the polluted air.
Observe the indistinguishable buildings.
Perhaps you can walk down the block; see a different view.
A different building.
But the world is more than man-made material.
It’s much bigger than the box in which you dwell.
Stretch your legs.
Take a breath. Take a step. Take a chance.
Find yourself lost in the beauty and simplicity of this ever-changing world.
Get away, if only for a moment, and let that moment sink in.
Before the box swallows you whole.

Hello all! I'm starting a personal portfolio of all of my artsy fartsy pictures, for possible sales or scholarships.
I'm also starting a new thing (coming soon to a computer screen near you!) of just portraits. I'm doing 50 portraits of friends, then narrowing it to 25 to put in my portfolio. The 'theme' of it, if you will, is pictures of people with certain features that pop out. Example: smile, eyes, nose, hair,etc. Just, something from their collarbone up that makes them look like THEM.

PLEASE tell me what you think, once they are posted.

Also, if you could skim through my pictures, and tell me your personal favourites, that would be GREAT, and it would make my portfolio-creating so much easier. If the public (aka YOU) likes my stuff, hopefully someone at a college will, too!

I just noticed I have this weird obsession with taking HALF pictures. You know, half of a tree, half of people's faces....

Is this annoying? Would you like to see the whole thing at some point? I just think that something centered in the middle of a page is oddly balanced. I prefer the to-one-side sort of picture.

But, what do you all think? Do you want the full object, or shall I continue with my artsy fartsy ways?
